Well, comedy is king, and when it is directed by a man who has a deft hand in making people laugh, expect a blockbuster. So Judwaa 2 is setting the box office on fire, after having taken a great initial over the weekend, collecting about Rs 60 crore at the domestic box office. The movie, which is sort of sequel but more of a remake of the 1997 movie Judwaa, has Varun Dhawan play the lead, while also doing the first double role of his career. Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu play the female leads, while Salman Khan has a cameo in the movie.
It is not just in India, but the movie is also impressing overseas too. With major portions shot in London, Judwaa 2 has been drawing in the NRI crowds, who just can’t seem to get enough of the nostalgia of the original movie. As per trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the movie has collected $2.91 million from the international markers, barring Pakistan, which comes to roughly about Rs 19.05 crore. Here’s what he had tweeted, “#Judwaa2 collects an IMPRESSIVE $ 2.91 million [₹ 19.05 cr] in its opening weekend in international markets [excluding Pakistan]…”
