Rajamouli film’s producers clear hurdles for Bollywood flick

The makers of ‘Magadheera’, a film directed by S S Rajamouli featuring Ram Charan and Kajal Aggarwal in the lead,  withdrew a plagiarism case they slapped against the makers of Bollywood film ‘Raabta’ as the films are not similar.
A statement from ‘Raabta’ team said the lawyers pointed out that the concerns of the makers of Magadheera that the warriors scene has been lifted in Raabta were unfounded as there was no such scene either in their film or the trailer.
“Unlike Magadheera, the villainous character was, in fact, an anti-hero and a parallel interest point for the heroine. Even in the back story depicting the past life of characters, the hero of the film actually plays a negative character for most part,” the statement said.
Earlier, ‘Raabta’ producers Dinesh Vijan and Bhushan Kumar said, “The accusation has been made without verifying facts or waiting for the film to release for the public to give its verdict.”
They said that ‘Raabta’ is an original film that presents their vision of a time-less love story. “The Indian Copyright Law upholds the use of ideas and plots and Indian cinema has always supported creative expression of ideas,” they added.
