If they like movies, we know a surefire way to fill the day with joy for them. Watch these funny, delightful animated movies with them. Read on.
1. How to Train Your Dragon: This movie is practically a phenomenon and you must have seen it already. Well, if you haven’t, start today’s binge with this. Set in the exotic world of Vikings with horned helmets, fjords and fire-breathing dragons, the story of How to Train Your Dragon is an inspirational coming-of-age story of a weakling who finds himself surrounded by warriors. His trials and tribulations do not end until he meets a dragon.
2. Kung Fu Panda: We all loved the adorable panda Po who wants to become a kung-fu master but is always hungry and cannot let go of the dumplings. You can also watch the sequel where he discovers his lineage. While the second movie is not as much fun, but then the original was too perfect to beat.
3. Madagascar series: Children have this fascination with talking animals and are probably disappointed when real life animals do not talk. Madagascar is a really fun series of movies and has unlikely friendships and lots of adventures that children are going to learn.
4. Shrek: The original Shrek was the first movie to receive the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. It gleefully made fun of the classic Disney movies and their tropes and still managed to be a heartfelt story with lots of lessons children can learn. For example, the titular character Shrek is an ogre who is treated as a frightening being and a pariah but the movie tells us that pre-conceived notions often fail us and we should not judge people before we get to know them.
5. Alvin and the Chipmunks: We have already spoken of talking animals, and trust us, singing animals are even cooler. In Alvin and the Chipmunks, a struggling singer finds three chipmunks who not only talk but also sing. He thinks if he could not make himself a star, he could at least make them stars and become their father of sorts. The movie has cool songs, humour and watch out for the cutest chipmunk of the bunch: Theodoire.
