Deepika Padukone dress-over-pants or Lara Dutta in flute sleeves: Who wore it worse?
Deepika Padukone's dull moss green dress over jeans or Lara Dutta's bland magenta-rose dress, whose look do you think was way off the mark?
When it comes to glam, Deepika Padukone is no amateur. Dazzling the world at red carpet events such as the string of appearances at the Cannes Film Festival this year to showcasing Indian-wear during the festive season, Padukone has always been a favourite with the fashion police. But then, we guess even she’s allowed an off-day once in a while, as we recently caught her sporting the dress-over-pants look that she has favoured many times over. The only problem was – the look failed to cut it.Padukone was clicked wearing a moss green dress knotted at the hem by Zara over a pair of blue jeans. The combination was sadly dull, and the dress could have used a brighter shade. As much as we love pockets on a dress, this one gave the outfit a baggy and look, but what really ruined the overall structure was the weird knot in the front giving Padukone a hurried, messy and uncomplimentary vibe. The actor accessorised her outfit with a slim gold watch and bracelet. The Chanel espadrilles and the Goyard bag are the only things we love about the look. Overall, we think Padukone could have done a much better job with styling even if moss green was to be the colour of the day.
Lara Dutta has really been nailing it when it comes to fashionable appearances and photo shoots. The actor’s Instagram has been flooded with new styles that Dutta has experimented with, which have had us gushing. But, much like Padukone’s moss green look, a recent magenta outfit with flute sleeves had us frowning. The magenta-rose hued flute-sleeved dress by Farah Sanjana the actor chose to wear looked bland and the ruffles in the same colour added some unwelcome volume to her look. Stylist Eshaa Amiin chose to forsake accessories, letting the dress be the hero, which again did more harm than good because there was no visual relief to break the colour block. However, we liked the pair of strappy chic Louis Vuitton heels, she paired with the ensemble.
Though both the actors failed miserably when it came to nailing the look, we think Deepika Padukone wore it much worse than Lara Dutta.
